Now that we got that cleared up, what do you spend your 24/hours a day on. Work, school or something else?
I just came back from a 4-month qw-break, traveling Australia, Thailand and China, so right now im doing some temporary work for the summer. In September im moving to Stockholm to study journalism and play with 13ms.
Well.. I think it’s pretty easy to get back in shape after some time off but all other players just playing better so it’s quite hard to tell. Some years ago I would never dream of lose an official game versus Dragon, Murdoc and Insane ;) Nah, seriously I think im back in my old shape quite well now.
What is your quake setup? In terms of hardware and software. What operating system do you use?
I am one of the few (or maybe only one?) still playing with MQWCL just because I can’t bother do the change. I am using basically the same cfg I started playing with back in 96. I am playing with XP on a P4-2.2ghz and Logitech MX510.
Do you use software or gl mqwcl?
Software.
Cause you are used to it or because you don’t like gl?
Because i’m used to it. I tried to play with GL one time back in 97 when my cousin bought his first VOODOO-card, and it didn’t feel so smooth on 133mhz so i was pretty satisfied playing software quake :)
Have you tried the ezquake beta(2)? What is your thoughts on teamoverlay and other new things?
As i said, I did a change from qizmo+qw to mqwcl and after that i haven’t tried anything new so I’m afraid i can’t give my opinion.
Do you think gameplay towards more newbfriendly game will increase the amount of players or just kill the game even more?
well.. i guess it will increase the amount of NEW players but for myself im pretty satisfied with the way qw is right now.
You have been absent from the scene for a few months, what’s the main difference in the scene now compared to the last time you were active?
It’s only been 4 months so i can’t say that to much happened. The only thing that I notice is some new clans in div1 fighting for the title. Some other things that are new for me is the live streaming of games and betting options, that’s really interesting ideas.
Legeartis have played some pracs lately, with almost the full lineup except dag. Any talks of putting the team in some tourney?
Actually I don’t know.. Summer is coming up and that usually means some inactivity on the quake scene. We played mostly for fun and im satisfied with my current position in cmf. But i guess you never know with LA.. I think we have to wait a while and see.
To bad here I was hoping for legeartis reunion… Anway what do you enjoy the most in quake, the physics the community or something else?
It is the complete package. You get to play with the same people you’ve been playing with for so many years. After I tried Counter-strike for some rounds i find it hard to see how people actually enjoy it, where is the speed of QW?
Did you see the new dde3 movie by pez?
Yes, i’ve watched it and it’s definitely the most well done movie i’ve seen. I actually didn’t know anything about big expectations of the movie since i usually don’t watch qw-movies. DDE-movies and CMF-movie is probably the only movies i’ve seen. Great work pez, def and dag!
What would you like to se more of in quake, players, leagues, client/server features or maybe something else?
Players. It would be great to see old qw-players find their way back to the roots. They need to realize that nothing beats good old quakeworld. It is great to see both NQR and EQL up and running, and that2on2-tourney that just ended as well.

No, or maybe seen some bot-messages about it on irc. Guess i have to look in to what it’s all about.
Blizzard recently announced StarCraft 2, do you think it will have the same negative impact on quake as wow had, sucking our player pool dry.. when you tought most wow-players had come back.. here comes another blizzard game. what do you think?
well i guess a lot of quake players going to play some sc2 but they must learn from their mistake and not let go of qw totally :)
