EQL4: Playoffs prediction for div4-6
It all started on Monday the 18th of September and now only the playoffs remain to be played. Two hundred and nine games have been reported, some of them may be walkovers but the amount of played games is still bigger than last season’s 180. Even more games could have been played but I doubt we will see a day when each division’s group games have been played.
Four teams from each division qualified for the EQL4 playoffs. I’ll start my preview from the bottom and end up for the most prestigious title to be won, the division four championships.
Division 6
In the division 6 playoffs’ first battle we have cool clan going head to head against RAW from the Ireland. Both teams managed to play amazing two games during the entire season. By looking at the group game results it seems that RAW has better chance of taking this match up home as they both played against kindergarten, but RAW was able to put them down by larger margins. I have a feeling that this game will be either very close or walk in the park, but still not a rape for RAW. 3-1 for RAW.
In the other match up for division 6 the depressing sadtroops will try to kill the Enemy Quad, which they already did rather easily in the group games. Sadtroops who played in division 5 few seasons ago didn’t have much of problems getting through division 6, if we don’t count in the one slightly closer game versus Russian Misters where they actually lost one map. I think it’s pretty to safe to say that sadtroops are going to roll over Enemy Quad in this match just like in the group games. 3-0 for sadtroops.
Division 5
The fifth division’s playoffs should be rather tight according to my knowledge. The Pimps came on top in the group stage and now they are set to battle against Clan Cube Squad who was the last team to qualify for the playoffs. These two teams already met earlier in the league and The Pimps were able to shut down CCS straight in two maps. In this rematch I believe CCS will be able to grab one map home and that’s about it unless they start practicing heavily before the match. 3-1 for The Pimps.
For the other division 5 semi-final Defs’ 2nd team and Shadow Death competes for the grand final spot. On the way to playoffs Def2 even took out the group #1 The Pimps but they did not play their group game against Shadow Death, was it a tactical move? Probably not. It seems that Def2 have slight problem getting warmed up, which may cost them a map as proved in the group games. This of course should not happen in the playoff game because Shadow Death is for sure very eager to win this game and I believe only one map will separate these two teams. 3-2 for either team.
Division 4
Moving on to the division 4, which was absolutely the closest division for this season. Four teams made it to the playoffs of course, but three of them had exactly same amount of points. This season we have Chosen, Morituri, Dies Ater and Suddendeath project fighting for the glory. Chosen took out sd.p nicely but tight in both teams their first group game. Now they are facing each other again in the playoffs. I am sure this match will be as close as the group game but the real question is can sd.p div2 players make the difference or not? If Chosen gets their dream line-up set and 187 pings lower than 50, I have my faith in them for 3-2 win by taking home all the kenya maps (cmt4, cmt3 and e1m2).
The other division 4 semi-final a.k.a the non-Swedish semi-final will be played between Dies Ater and Morituri. As you can guess they did already meet in the group games and there Morituri was able to secure a win for themselves rather easy in two maps. I think the situation won’t be much different in the playoff game unless Dies Ater has recovered very well from the loss against the questionable Russians. It is also a little question mark will uiG be able to make any difference to scoreboard as he did not play in the group game. He will probably make some difference but I’m afraid it just won’t be enough to take down Morituri. 3-1 for Morituri.
