Quake Nations Cup

Quake Nations Cup is about to begin and here is a list of the signed teams for the QuakeWorld section along with some short predictions on the outcome.

QW to be played at Dreamhack again?

Dreamhack, the world’s largest computer festival, featured a QuakeWorld 1on1 tournament in their Winter 2007 event. Since it turned out to be quite successful, it seems that the event organisers have given QuakeWorld another chance to be part of the official tournaments. Dreamhack’s next event, scheduled to take place June 14th - 17th, is most likely going to have at least a 1on1 tournament for Quakeworld. Additionally, we have also received note about rumours concerning a possible 2on2 tournament to be held there as well.

With the lack of information, all of this is still kinda out in the open. However, we hope to get these rumours confirmed as soon as possible. Stay tuned!

Quake Nations Cup

Quake.cz, the czech Quake fan site has started a new tournament called Quake Nations Cup which is a Quake dedicated championship across all Quake scenes.

The goal with Quake Nations Cup is to set cooperation between each scene and try to presents all games in the Quake series.

There has been much debate concerning the map-pool of the upcoming season of NQR. While the majority demanded that NQR stick to “the big three“, there have always been players that complained about the dullness of playing the same three maps for ten years.

One could have come up with the obvious solution: Let clans decide whether they want NQR to be TB3 or TB3+Kenya. The pleased majority decides, the minority is ignored. Well, I think we came up with something better than that.
